CEO of Home-Health PCA LLC says he is well-known in the reshaped district that covers part of 8 parishes
Troy Brown, a native of Napoleonville and a resident of Geismar, has announced his candidacy for the Louisiana Senate's 2nd District seat in the Oct. 22 election.
The 2nd District was recently redrawn to include portions of St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. James, Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, Iberville and West Baton Rouge parishes.
Brown, owner and CEO of Home-Health PCA LLC and Troy Brown Construction, has owned and operated several businesses within the parishes. He said working with a staff of more than 400 employees within the parishes has helped him to become well-known throughout the community and has prepared him for the task of representing the district.
Brown said that during his campaign, he plans to address the issues of health care, education, coastal erosion and the promotion of jobs and job training.
"Many corporations have long complained about the lack of a skilled work force in Louisiana," Brown said. "First we must address this shortcoming in order to attract viable businesses to our area and keep them for the long run."
Brown said he also plans to continue pushing for better benefits and pay for firefighters, police officers and emergency personnel.
