More than 800 business, political and civic leaders will gather today to hear Gov. Bobby Jindal at the annual Governor's West Bank Luncheon.
More than 900 people attended the 23rd Annual Governor's West Bank Luncheon last year at the Alario Center in Westwego. The event brings together business and community leaders to present to the governor issues of concern on the West Bank. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Alario Center, Westwego. Proceeds will benefit Cafe Hope, a nonprofit that helps troubled youth through its restaurant program.
The annual event is designed to address issues that leaders deem important for the West Bank. In past luncheons, topics have included the Huey P. Long Bridge expansion, hurricane protection and transportation issues.
The luncheon is sponsored by the Harvey Canal Industrial Association, the Jefferson Chamber, the Plaquemines Association of Business and Industry and the Algiers Economic Development Foundation.
