BATON ROUGE -- Gov. Bobby Jindal is expected to unveil a new education initiative today when he addresses the annual meeting of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, the state's largest business lobby.
Jindal is scheduled to announce the program at the association's annual meeting at noon at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge.
Jindal spokesman Kyle Plotkin said the education program to be announced will "tie in Louisiana businesses" with the state's elementary and high schools.
Additional details will be fleshed out in the speech, Plotkin said.
Governors frequently use the LABI forum as a means to float policy changes or possible legislation to be considered at an upcoming legislative session.
In the past, business and other tax policies have been announced at the LABI meeting.
