The interchange upgrade at Interstate 10 and Causeway Boulevard in Metairie will block Veterans Memorial Boulevard early Thursday and then close the ramp connecting westbound I-10 to northbound Causeway.
Crews will be pouring concrete on the Causeway ramp above the eastbound lanes of Veterans, closing Veterans at Causeway from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. Lanes will gradually reopen between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. as the work progresses.
After Veterans is fully reopened, workers will close the westbound I-10 exit to northbound Causeway, allowing traffic to flow on the ground level through the Veterans intersection, after which drivers can reconnect with Causeway.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will post detour signs for the changes, channeling traffic through open parts of the interchange and back onto Causeway and Veterans.
