- The Westwego City Council gathers Monday night to consider regulating airboat swamp tour businesses. The latest proposal follows a string of discussions that began in July, when an airboat business owner asked for a permit to open shop in Westwego, leading city officials to confirm and later lift a 2005 moratorium on such operations.
