A recently discovered letter is being sold in Philadelphia in which Susan B. Anthony rails against the treatment of women as "the pets of society."

Anthony replies that as long as women aren't recognized for their accomplishments and have no voice in their own government, they'll be the "pets of society," and "to be a pet is not to be an equal."
The Raab Collection is offering the letter for $15,000.
The dealer's vice president, Nathan Raab, said the angry tone shows a side of Anthony not previously seen in her correspondence.
