An agreement with Jefferson Parish to oversee maintenance of the West Bank Expressway is official, Transportation Secretary Sherri LeBas told a group of West Bank business leaders Wednesday night. LeBas was the keynote speaker at the Harvey Canal Industrial Association's 67th Annual President's Banquet.
"With the assistance of the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission (RPC), we have executed an agreement with Jefferson Parish for mowing, litter pickup and landscape maintenance," LeBas said.Legislation approved last year designates the RPC with oversight of the Crescent City Connection operations and related projects, which includes the West Bank Expressway. The commission will use part of a $5.2 million transition fund to pay for mowing and litter pickup along the West Bank Expressway from Terry Parkway to the US 90B junction.
The agreement, which also includes bed and tree maintenance, ends in June 2014.
