- Early voting for the May 4 elections continues this week. On the ballot are a judgeship runoff in East Jefferson and four property tax renewals.
- The East Bank Carnival Advisory Commitee meets Tuesday (April 23) at 6 p.m. in Elmwood. It is considering an alternate parade route and changing the parade schedule.
- The Jefferson Parish Department of Inspection and Code Enforcement said it issued 35 citations and tagged seven vehicles for towing, and that Cox Communications found 35 illegal cable television connections, during a sweep in the 1st Parish Council District. The streets included in the sweep were North, South, East and West Monterey Court.
- Jefferson Parish said it has selected Central Bidding to provide online bidding technologies for companies interested in local government contracts. The system goes into operation Wednesday, with full implementation expected during the summer.
