Kenner Mayor Mike Yenni is praising New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu's $826 million plan to transform Louis Armstrong International Airport, saying the initiative "could have far-reaching implications on the ability of Kenner to attract new residents and businesses."
Landrieu's plan, which the Aviation Board has endorsed, includes building a new $650 million terminal north of the east-west runway and a $72 million power station, as well as a $17 million hotel and a new $87 million tie-in to Interstate 10. The current terminal, except the recently refurbished Concourse D, would be demolished.
Yenni expands on the matter in a statement posted this week in the city's website.
