- FEMA shows off and explains new flood insurance maps Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Terrytown Playground gymnasium, Meeting Room 101, 641 Heritage Ave. On Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., the show moves to the Foundation Center at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd., Metairie.
- The future of the Crescent City Connection is likely to dominate a public meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the West Jefferson Medical Center auditorium in Marrero.
- Despite the Jefferson Parish Council's push to cut its ties with Redflex Traffic Systems Inc. and the stoplight camera program that the company ran, Gretna and Westwego officials say they remain satisfied with the company's service, according to The Advocate. Redflex provides speed cameras in both cities.
- State Rep. Julie Stokes, R-Kenner, will host a public inauguration March 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the City Council chamber at Kenner City Hall, 1801 Williams Blvd. She was elected March 2 to the 79th District seat and was sworn into office in a private ceremony March 13.
