The report talks of Carnival balls, Russian ballets, ice shows, high school graduations, boxing matches and more. It tries to portray "a sense of what the auditorium, dedicated in May 1930, meant to this city."

The F.X. Jeff Municipal Auditorium has sat largely untouched since levee flooding after Hurricane Katrina badly damaged the facility more than seven years ago. In May, FEMA approved a $16.6 million grant to help repair the auditorium. The post-Katrina flood caused significant electrical and mechanical damage to the auditorium in Louis Armstrong Park.
