NEW YORK  -- Stocks are heading higher in early trading on Wall Street as Americans lined up to cast their votes in the U.S. presidential election. Companies including Computer Sciences and Medifast rose sharply after turning in strong earnings reports.

The Dow Jones industrial average is up 74 points at 13,186 shortly after the opening bell Tuesday. The Standard & Poor's 500 index is up six points at 1,423 and the Nasdaq composite is up five at 3,005.

Computer Sciences' stock jumped 13 percent, the most in the S&P 500, after the company's earnings blew past analysts' estimates. Weight-loss company Medifast is up 9 percent after reporting that its third-quarter earnings increased more than 40 percent.

Online real estate company Zillow plunged 19 percent after issuing a disappointing revenue forecast.
