Metairie, Kenner doctors appointed to state Medicaid drug panel

21-member panel is charged with developing and maintaining a list of preferred drugs for Louisiana

Gov. Bobby Jindal has reappointed doctors Mohammed Suleman of Kenner and Neil Wolfson and Edward Mader Jr. of Metairie to the state Medicaid Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee, the governor's office said. The 21-member panel is charged with developing and maintaining a list of preferred drugs for Louisiana.

Suleman is a general surgeon at Oschner Medical Center. Wolfson is an obstetrician and gynecologist for the Jefferson Community Health Center. Mader is an assistant professor of neurology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

Also, Jindal reappointed Amy Givler of Monroe to the panel. She is an urgent care physician at Family Convenience Clinic and an assistant professor at LSU Health Sciences Center in Monroe.

The governor reappointed:

  • James Lu of Shreveport, an associate professor of internal medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
  • Fred Mills of St. Martinville, a pharmacist, banker and member of the Louisiana State Senate.
