Once qualifying for the Oct. 2 elections is out of the way, Jefferson Parish Council members John Young, Tom Capella and Cynthia Lee-Sheng are scheduled to hold a town hall meeting Tuesday in Old Metairie.
The topic is "issues of concern to local business owners and residents," said President Nora Vaden Holmes of the Old Metairie Road Business Association.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School's gymnasium. Also scheduled to attend are nterim Parish President Steve Theriot; Deano Bonano, Theriot's chief administrative assistant; and a representative from U.S. Sen. David Vitter's office, according to the business association's announcement.
The session likely will take on an extra political hue coming four days after the official qualifying period ends for the Oct. 2 ballot, which will have Young running for parish president and Vitter, R-Metairie, seeking re-election.
Capella has said he will run for assessor in April. Lee-Sheng faces re-election in the fall of 2011.
